近年「LGBT」という言葉が主流メディアでもさかんに取り上げられるようになった。一部の自治体における同性パートナーシップ制度、私企業によるダイバーシティ制度の相次ぐ導入を軸に、性的マイノリティの可視化が進み、その権利を擁護しようとする動きが注目を集めるようになっている。
だが他方では、「LGBT」という名のもとに実際は多様な性のあり方が抹消され、その内実が真摯に問われることもなく、単に「特別な」人びとを示すのに用いられているケースも数えきれないほどに生じている。
この特集は「LGBT」への取り組みや可視化が進む状況にひそむ陥穽について考えることを目的に企画された。表層的な「性の多様性」の主張が、実は多様な性／生を踏みつぶしているという状況を変える言葉が今こそ必要とされている。生きがたさの正体を見定めること、敵を同じくする者を見つけること、自らの特権性に気づくこと、それを踏まえた議論と対話を深めていくこと、この特集がそのための出発点となることを期待したい。
