■ フリートウッド・マック、通算18作目、彼らのキャリアの中で2番目に売れたアルバムとしてしられる1987年作品『TANGO IN THE NIGHT/タンゴ・イン・ザ・ナイト』。世界で1500万枚以上の売り上げを記録した本作は、全米7位、全英1位を記録し、「Big Love / ビッグ・ラヴ」や「Little Lies／リトル・ライズ」といったヒットを生み出した。
■ その『タンゴ・イン・ザ・ナイト』が発売30周年となる今年、初のリマスター音源で登場！これは2016年の9月に発売された『ミラージュ』に続くものとなり、これまで同様、オリジナル・アルバムのリマスターに加え、2枚組のエクスパンデット・エディション、そして豪華デラックス・エディションもリリースとなる。
■ 3枚組CD、DVD、そしてアナログLPレコードという構成の5枚組でリリースとなる「デラックス・エディション」には、オリジナル・アルバムの最新リマスター音源の他、レア音源、未発表ヴァージョンを収録したボーナス・ディスク、そして発売されたシングルの12インチ・リミックスを集めたディスク、そしてアルバムからのミュージック・ビデオとハイレゾ・ステレオ音源を収録したDVD、オリジナル・アルバムの最新リマスター音源を使用したアナログLPレコードが収められている。
■ Disc2に収録されているレア音源、未発表ヴァージョンの中には、シングルB面曲だった「Down Endless Strett」や「Ricky」、さらには「Mysified」のオルタネイト・ヴァージョンなどが含まれている。またDisc3に収録されている12インチ・リミックスの中には、「Seven Wonders」や「Everywhere」のダブ・ミックスや、ジョン”ジェリービーン”ベニテスによる「Little Lies」のエクステンデッド・ヴァージョンなど、リリースされた当時のミュージック・シーンを反映したものがフィーチャーされている。
■ またDVDには、アルバムからリリースされた5曲のシングル「Big Love」、「Seven Wonders」、「Little Lies」、「Family Man」そして「Everywhere」のミュージック・ビデオ、そしてオリジナル・アルバムのハイレゾ・ステレオ音源が収録されている。
■ それぞれのソロ活動も順調だったスティーヴィー・ニックスとリンジー・バッキンガムが、栄光と挫折を乗り越え、元のフリートウッド・マックの一員としてスタジオ入りし、前作のアルバム『ミラージュ』リリース以来、5年ぶりの作品となる『タンゴ・イン・ザ・ナイト』であった。
■ スティーヴィー・ニックスは、81年『麗しのベラ・ドンナ』、83年『ワイルド・ハート』、85年『ロック・ア・リトル』と3枚のソロ・アルバムをリリースし、ツアーも成功させ、順調なソロ活動だったものの、同時にコカイン中毒のために体調を崩し、1986年にリハビリ施設に入所していた。その入所時の体験をもとに書かれた楽曲が本アルバムに収録の「ウェルカム,セーラ/ Welcome to the Room...Sara 」である。
■ リンジー・バッキンガムはフリートウッド・マックのアルバム『牙（タスク）』、『ミラージュ』（82年）の2枚のプロデュースはもちろん、ソロ・アルバムを81年『Law And Order』、84年『Go Insane』の2枚発表していた。
■ またジョン・マクヴィーとの結婚生活にピリオドを打ったクリスティン・マクヴィーは1986年にシンセサイザー奏者のエドアルド・クィンテラ・デ・メンダンカと再婚するなど、メンバーそれぞれに様々な出来事が起きていた。3枚目のソロ・アルバムの制作中に、フリートウッド・マックとしてのアルバム制作を思いたったリンジーがメンバーを招集し、サン・フェルナンド・バレーの「ランボー・スタジオ」にて3ヶ月間に亘って録音が行われ、ロサンゼルスにあるリンジーの自宅スタジオ「ザ・スロープ」にてオーバー・ダビングやミキシングが行われた。
■ このアルバムの制作についてリンジーは「『噂』の統一性と『牙 (タスク)』の魅力的な要素をミックスした内容であり、プロデュースしたアルバムの面では過去のアルバムを上回る」と語っていた。全米アルバム・チャートの最高位は7位ながら、全米シングル・チャートでは「ビッグ・ラヴ」が5位、「リトル・ライズ」が4位となったのをはじめ、4曲のTOP20ヒットが生まれている。そしてこのアルバムを最後にリンジーはバンドを脱退する。
