おそらくla Belleはあだ名、Beautyもあだ名（つまり固有名詞的に使用されている）、なのでそういうことになっているんだと思います。

フランス語はわかりませんが、ロートレックが描いた「ラ・グーリュ」は食いしん坊という意味の芸名だそうですしフランスでは文法的な必要性から冠詞コミのあだ名っていうのがあるのかなと想像しています。
